The Seminar on Palm-leaf Manuscripts and Technology

Digital Humanities Center (DHC) organized a seminar about the use of state-of-the-art technology for the creation of palm-leaf manuscript database. Three topics included “Index Database of Manuscripts” by Associate Professor Dr. Jeerayut Chaijaruwanich and Dr. Papangkorn Inkeaw from Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, “Geographic Information System for Northeast Palm Leaf Manuscripts” by Mr. Jatuphum Juanchaiyaphum from Faculty of Informatics, Mahasarakham University, and “Technology for Dhamma Transmission in Digital World” by Dr. Sumachaya Sumachaya Harnsukworapanich.

The 2# Meeting of MPSC Board

The annual board meeting was arranged to update the committee members the progress of manuscripts survey and digitization that had been conducted by DTP and other organizations throughout the year, and Ven. Nantawat Dhammanando and Ven. Tanatorn Dhammaviriyo from DTP presented the study of local manuscripts preserved at Wat Mahathat, Yasothorn and those in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, respectively.

The 3rd Seminar on Pāli Texts and Manuscripts (Online)

In responding to the Covid-19 pandemic, TRC organized an online seminar on Pāli Texts and Manuscripts via Zoom where scholars and commentators presented and shared comments from different countries. This year topics of presentation were related to variant readings found in the Majjhimanikāya.
