The 2st Advisory Board Meeting was held at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) to update progress on the production of the critical edition and to discuss on academic approaches to textual editing and database production.
DTP presented the preliminary edition of Dīghanikāya Sīlakkhandhavagga in order to corral opinions and recommendations from experts that can be applied to producing the most complete text at Thailand Science Park Convention Center in Pathum Thani.
DTP organized a conference and exhibits on the Tripitaka-Pāli under the theme “The Transmission of Dhamma: from the Buddha’s Time to the Present Day” at Thailand Science Park Convention Center in Pathum Thani. During the conference there were lectures from a panel of the world-renowned Pāli experts such as Professor Richard Gombrich from Oxford University; Professor Oskar von Hinüber, an expert on Pāli and ancient manuscripts; Professor Rupert Gethin, President of the Pāli Text Society; and Professor Masahiro Shimoda from University of Tokyo.
Prof. G. Somaratne presented the research and studies on palm-leaf manuscripts from Theravada countries “New Project of Compiling Pāli Canonical Texts” at the international symposium held at Fukutake Hall, Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, University of Tokyo.
